The issue with getting into Homestuck in the big year of 2026 is that you slowly become homestuckified and I don't know how to explain it. I've always been a fan of drawing in MS Paint with the cronchy brush but now? Lowkey I haven't drawn with line smoothing in a few months lol. And, well, the fact I'm even making A BLOG. Idk it just reminded me how much I SUCK and DO NOT VIBE with social media that isn't Youtube and my Government Assigned Instagram Reels for Bathroom Time.


But also has enriched my gameplay experience of Deltarune because I DID catch the sweet bro and hella jeff reference WITHOUT GOOGLING IT #LarpAVOIDED.

We don't have crazy amounts of garden space, but we have exactly enough space for a quail hutch + little bits for them to roam around... and oh my god are they the SWEETEEST things ever. Apart from the fact they have pretty fierce animal politics? So one guy quail got grumbly and bit the CRAP outta one of the girl quails because he had #nopull and was throwing a tantrum. What did she do? Demolish the guy back. Now both parties are maimed and in different hutches. In my defence, nobody was at home! So we had to piece together from context clues.


Oh, but otherwise they're adorbs! The girls are super happy in their own little club and the boys are playing, and the girls churn out so many little eggs from the sheer good vibes, which makes super tasty pasta dough. I feel so fancy! But they're just little chickies in the garden and they take up like no space! I like feeding them little veggies. They get hyped over veggies.

I worry that people by second-nature are bracing to be tricked online! It feels like people have this mindset of distrust to anything and everyone, which considering all the Fake Stuff Makers that are available to the public, I get it. But sometimes people pry into people's point-blank statements to see if there's some secret malice underneath. I understand to an extent, the fear of being emotionally invested and then betrayed, but it feels so exhausting to have your guard up all the time.


I think everyone would benefit from giving strangers a slight bit more trust. Within reason, obviously! But there's no harm in giving a little benefit of the doubt. In the end it's usually a human behind the pixels. (Can't believe we have to say "usually" nowadays, huh? We live in a crazy era...).


But also, I think people should try use more discretion to see whether an online argument is necessary, or if you're just shouting at a wall with a smug face on it. Preserve your mental! If something is eating your time and emotions, it better be important. And if not? Try to do something else! We have limited time here, try pursue fun where possible. (I don't know why I'm speaking like an authority on this, this is all just opinions.)

I have such a specific feeling listening to "Before the Story".


Because that was the music on the PlayStation 4 theme for Undertale. Our family's Playstation, or I'd call it more "my Dad's" Playstation (which he probably would've called MY Playstation), was in the living room, and that was the background I'd had it set for ages.

And we'd absentmindedly let it idle in the background while we were doing stuff. Or whenever he'd tab out of the game the Talos Principle it'd play those first couple notes. I was so happy when I saw that was a theme option for the first time! As you can tell, I'm pretty fixated on this game series lol.

That theme came out in like 2017 and we kept it on and off for years, I'd say probably about 5-6 years?


I really like this background, the infinite looping ruins. It feels like the world of Undertale is a bit bigger than we can see, a bit more real. The more realistic woodwinds and the reverb helps make it feel a bit more tangible audio-wise.


I dunno if I'm waxing too much lyrical for a PS4 theme. It reminds me of Covid time, being stuck indoors playing my same game library over and over. It reminds me of my Dad.


In fact, Undertale in general reminds me of my Dad. I don't think he really got the game the way he got others. He said something along the lines of "40 years for games to go back to looking the exact same as when I was your age!"


But I could tell he enjoyed that I enjoyed it, y'know? He liked the music. He'd do this goofy Kazotsky-kick-type dance to Bonetrousle whenever I'd play, before regretting the hell he did to his knees. And first time I got to Omega Flowey when he was still in the room he let out a "what the hell", not knowing that I've already beat him enough for the "wtf" factor to wear off.


It has all these melancholic, nice feelings. A yearning to go back to where I was before. A yearning to somewhere I've technically never been. But a thankfulness that I had experienced both.


It also just sounds pretty.
